Side is organised around a heart-like form built from precisely cut wood elements. The 290 × 195 mm panel is compact, allowing the curved motif to repeat frequently across the floor. Seen nearby, the individual forms are distinct; from a greater distance, their intersections produce a denser geometric texture. The total panel thickness is 15 mm.

A heart motif can easily become illustrative when treated as a single decorative emblem. Side takes a different approach: the form is subordinated to the panel repeat, so it functions as part of the floor architecture rather than as an isolated symbol. The pattern is made through marquetry and is not a printed graphic applied to standard boards.

How tone and texture change Side’s curved geometry

Brushed Walnut gives the motif a darker, tactile surface and emphasises natural grain variation. Cream Oak reduces contrast and makes the repeat feel lighter. Brushed Natural Oak sits between these readings, retaining a clear timber character without the visual weight of walnut. Two catalogue variants carry the Brushed Walnut name, so their images and legacy references should be compared rather than relying on the translated finish name alone.

The compact repeat becomes more active over a large area. When choosing a treatment, consider the amount of visible floor, the scale of the furniture and whether surrounding materials already contain strong curves or repeated ornament.
